Background
After receiving his MBA from Harvard in
1986, Phil earned his management stripes at the Danbury Mint, a leading direct
marketer of collectibles and memorabilia. During his 18-year career, Phil
was heavily involved in all aspects of the business: marketing, product
development, merchandising, licensing, sourcing, IT and fulfillment. He was
recognized as one of the Company's premiere marketing strategists, as well
as an innovator in identifying new product category opportunities. Among
his accomplishments:
Doubled annual sales of the
Company's jewelry category in just 2 years.
Designed the Company's first
website, DanburyMintSports.com.
Pioneered a regional marketing
strategy for sports products, leading to rapid category growth.
Introduced cooperative database
and modeling techniques that significantly increased revenue.
Engaged industry-leading vendors
to expand and refine product lines.
Since 2005, Phil has served as a direct
response marketing consultant. His clients have included Really Good Stuff,
a provider of K-6 classroom teaching tools & supplies; and Wellconnected,
a multichannel provider of personalized jewelry. These assignments have focused
heavily on eCommerce initiatives such as website development, SEO/SEM campaigns,
and development of CRM strategies.
After graduating with honors in 1981 from
Princeton University, Phil joined Arthur Andersen as an information systems
consultant - serving such marquis clients as General Electric and Pfizer
Pharmaceuticals. Today, he resides in Trumbull, CT with his wife Nellie.
