Allan Hoving Background

Allan has more than 20 years of experience at leading print and online properties. He has held editorial, marketing, and production positions at New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, HR Outsourcing Today, MediaPost, and the high-tech B2B publications of F&G Thomson Financial.

In the Internet era, Allan joined Mediapost.com, developing and launching its monthly print companion, MEDIA Magazine (now called OMMA). As Editor and Publishing Director, he oversaw all aspects from editorial, design, and production to email marketing and circulation. He also wrote the magazine's "Media Circus" column, moderated MEDIA's "Forecast 2002" conference, and created a spin-off edition of MEDIA dealing with traditional advertising.

His Web projects include TheFrequency.com, PDFchecker.com, and KerryEdwards.org, which was launched 18 months before that ticket formed. He also serves as Online Community Leader for an executive network where he improves the member experience by managing content and networking features, leading online sessions and forums, and working with expert moderators and other contributors to bring interesting content to the site.

Allan graduated with honors from Columbia University and was a news announcer on the college radio station, WKCR. He is in the Master's Program in Interactive Communications at Quinnipiac University, studying Second Life, RSS widgets, and "Building Consensus Online." He lives in Westport, CT, with his wife and two children.
